Litigation / Mediation / Arbitration

  • Representing plaintiff in putative class action against lender who demanded fees, penalties and interest allegedly in violation of California law
  • Represented private client lender on a contested foreclosure/quiet title action
  • Represented large commercial Tenant in action against Landlord attempting to breach their lease and wrongfully evict Tenant.
  • Represented client in real estate mediation involving a $3,300,000 million real estate transaction. The other side sought $400,000 in damages. Result: After a full day mediation, the parties settled with the other side receiving less than half of their initial demand.
  • Represented clients being evicted pursuant to the Ellis Act,without any, or minimal, relocation or other funds offered by the landlord. Result: The parties settled with our clients vacating and with the landlord paying our clients a low-five-figure lump sum.
  • Represented client in commission dispute with his real estate broker/agent.  Result: The parties settled with the broker/agent returning over 25% of his commission to our client.
  • Represented client homeowner in long-running dispute with HOA that would potentially block the pending sale of his home and disrupt his pending purchase of a new home. Result: The parties settled for far less than the demand originally sought by the HOA; the client's sale of his home was completed successfully and the client's purchase of his new home was completed successfully.
